HelmsMate Extension Handles

Does the HelmsMate clamp fit all motor tiller handles?

Each HelmsMate comes with a rubber sleeve that will enable the HelmsMate to fit small diameter tiller handles and can be removed to accommodate large diameter tiller handles. The HelmsMate clamp will work with handles up to 1.75” diameter. If the HelmsMate clamp is still too loose even when using the rubber sleeve provided, we will send you a second sleeve. Please contact us at info@ironwoodpacific.com or 800-261-1330.

Why is it recommended to use the HelmsMate at trolling speeds only?

Using any extension handle at higher speeds introduces the risk that the boater may turn too quickly and throw themselves out of the boat.

EasyTroller Trolling Plates

Will the EasyTroller fit on my engine?

In the vast majority of cases, the EasyTroller will fit on any single-prop outboard or I/O motor. The mounting bracket can be installed from the top or the bottom of the anti-cavitation plate, but installing the EasyTroller from the bottom will be the better fit on most engines.

Do you have an EasyTroller for lower horse-power engines?

No. We currently only offer the one size.

AnchorLift

Where are AnchorLift systems most commonly used?

AnchorLifts are most commonly used in deep river and lakes for anchoring while fishing, and in the ocean to mark and retrieve shrimp and crab pots.

How can the AnchorLift hold up in anchoring applications when it is plastic?

The AnchorLift is molded from a top grade super-tough nylon and is reinforced at every wear point with stainless steel molded into the product. Thousands of AnchorLifts are in use and have been for many years. We are so confident in the product that we offer it with a lifetime warranty.

Anchor Ring

Where are Anchor Ring systems most commonly used?

Anchor Rings are most commonly used in open water applications on anchor lines rigged with more than 10 feet of chain. The anchor chain acts as a counterbalance for the anchor when it is pulled to the surface. The weight of the chain needs to be equal to or greater than that of the anchor.

Can I use one of my existing buoys with the Anchor Ring system?

Yes, it is easy to tether the buoy to the Anchor Ring harness. You will want to make sure that the buoyancy of the buoy exceeds the combined weight of your anchor and chain so that it will float them to the surface. The tether should be no longer than 2 to 3 feet.

Boat Bridge Yacht Ramp

Can I get a longer ramp than the 6 foot version on the website?

It is possible to request a longer (or shorter) boarding ramp. Please call us with your requirements: 800-261-1330.

How do I install the mounting brackets onto my boat?

Please see your boat maintenance professional for help with the installation of the stainless steel mounting brackets.

Boat Bridge Pontoon Ramp

Will the pontoon ramp fit between the pontoons on a tri-toon style boat?

In many cases the pontoon ramp will work great for tri-toons. You first need to measure the clearance between the pontoons right underneath the deck. If you have at least 24” of clearance between the pontoons and a minimum of 4” of vertical clearance, the pontoon ramp will install easily.

StreaX

Do I have to loosen the rub rail to install the StreaX on my boat?

No. We’ve added a strip of marine-grade adhesive to the StreaX so that you don’t have to remove the rub rail in order to install StreaX. In some instances, you may want to tuck the upper edge of the StreaX underneath the rub rail if you can (stainless steel rub rails can often be loosened by removing the screws that hold it in place). Molded plastic or fiberglass rub rails are not easily loosened, so just install the StreaX as close to the rail as possible using the adhesive strip to hold them in place.

Top-Snapper

Will the Top-Snapper work to fasten and un-snap my canvas cover or top?

Yes – the Top-Snapper is designed to work either way. By cradling the snap shoulder, the Top-Snapper can push or pull the snap into alignment and fasten. To un-snap simply slide the long blade between the two snap halves and twist – the snap will pop apart, leaving your canvas in tact.

Will the Snap Lube stain my canvas?

The Snap Lube is a petroleum based product and can stain, however the Snap Lube comes in solid form which makes it easy to apply it directly to snaps. No oozing or running. Be sure to keep the Snap Lube out of direct sunlight.

E-Z Slides

My boat is too heavy to use the E-Z Slides. Why do you have a weight limit?

E-Z Slides are designed to make launching and loading boats easy, if they are crushed under the weight of a heavy boat – they no longer enable easy loading. The weight limit is in place to avoid crushing of the E-Z Slide pads and any wear that may occur on the underside of the hull.

DryWave Air Dryers

I live in a warm, humid climate – why can’t I use the DryWave?

Because the DryWave prevents mold and mildew by raising the air temperature, in climates where the temperature is already high, the DryWave has little to no effect. The DryWave is not a dehumidifier and does not collect moisture – this is what is needed for these climates.

My DryWave had a funny order the first time I used it. Is there something wrong with it?

No – it is very common for small electrical appliances to emit an odor the first few times they are used. The odor should disappear completely within the first month of use, when the DryWave is continuously plugged in.
