Q. What do DryWave Air Dryers do?
The DryWave warms and dries the air to prevent condensation from forming and leading to mold or mildew on surfaces in enclosed spaces.
Q. How do DryWave Air Dryers work?
The DryWave begins working once it is plugged in. The heating element inside the unit will begin to warm the air around the DryWave.
Q. When should I use a DryWave Air Dryer?
Use the DryWave during fall, winter and spring months when humidity is high and temperatures are between 32ºF and 65ºF.
Q. Will DryWave Air Dryers work in hot and humid climates?
The combination of high humidity and high temperature reduce the effectiveness of the DryWave, and operation in higher temperatures can lead to overheating of the unit.
Q. What other applications can I use DryWave Air Dryers for?
The DryWave can be used inside your home, cabin, RV, Car, Truck, airplane or helicopter. The DryWave 100 is good for use in gun safes, equipment lockers, closets and small compartments.
Q. Do I need more than one DryWave Air Dryer?
DryWaves are designed for use in spaces up to 1,000 cubic feet. Having two or more can be more effective for large areas. The DryWave 100 is designed for spaces up to 100 cubic feet.
Q. Can I leave my DryWave Air Dryer on while I’m away?
The DryWave was designed with a low wattage heating unit and no moving parts, which make it safe to operate for extended periods of time unattended.
Q. What about overheating?
There is a thermal cut-off switch that will allow the unit to cool to a normal operating temperature should it overheat for any reason. Once normal operating temperature has been reached the switch will automatically reset and turn the unit back on.
Q. Where should I place the DryWave?
The location for your DryWave should be chosen carefully. Always away from possible fire hazards and there needs to be unrestricted air flow to the unit.
Q. How much power do DryWave Air Dryers use?
The DryWave uses about as much power as a household light bulb.
Q. Is the DryWave Air Dryer safe to touch while plugged in?
It is not recommended that you touch the DryWave while plugged in. DryWaves are safe to touch but still can cause burns if overheated.
Q. Why does my DryWave Air Dryer have a strange odor when I first plug it in?
If it is the first time you are using your DryWave this is normal and will go away after a few hours of operation. If the odor persists then unplug the unit and contact whomever you purchased it from.
