How does Anchor Ring anchor retrieval work?

     1.  Slip the Anchor Ring over the anchor line.  Attach the shackle- buoy assembly.  Be sure to snap the shackle through both eyes of the ring.  Toss the buoy into the water allowing the ring to slide down the line.  2.  Motor your boat at a 30 degree angle off of your anchor point, taking care to keep the anchor line clear of the prop.  Proceed slowly (roughly 5 knots) until the anchor is released from the bottom.  Then increase speed slightly.  3.  The anchor line will slide through the ring as the buoy floats on the surface.  Once the anchor has reached the surface, shift into neutral and pull in the slack anchor line and anchor.  The anchor chain will counterbalance the anchor and hold the anchor at the surface.

How To Inflate a Polyform Buoy by Ironwood Pacific Outdoors - SavvyBoater.com Videos

Today, we are going to show you how to properly inflate a Polyform buoy. First, use a flathead screwdriver to unscrew the cap from the air valve. You may use either an air compressor or a Polyform Hand Pump to inflate the buoy. If using an air compressor, set the compressor to 30 psi or less, place the compressor nozzle over the valve airway of the buoy, and inflate up to a maximum of 2 psi. No special attachment or tip is needed. When using the hand pump, simply insert the nozzle into the air valve and pump until full. The valve flap may not fully open when using a Polyform Hand Pump; therefore, you may need to insert a blunt object--such as a small screwdriver or awl--prior to inflation. After inflation, you should be able to make a quarter-inch indentations with your fingers. However, the buoy should still be fairly firm. Then, use your screwdriver to tighten the cap back into the valve.

How To Clean a Polyform Inflatable Buoy - SavvyBoater.com Videos

Clean Polyform fenders look good, and they help keep your boat clean. The simplest way to clean a Polyform fender is to try using soap and water. After the fender is dry, a common protectant, suitable for vinyl or plastic, provides a nice finish. Properly inflated and cared for, Polyform fenders will provide years of excellent service.

How to Inflate a Polyform Fender with a Compressor - SavvyBoater.com Videos

When you a purchase a Polyform fender, chances are they're going to come in a box like this. When you open that box, what you're going to have...is something that looks like this, which is the fender. Now, it's not inflated. How in the world am I going to inflate this? When customers receive our fenders, normally the screw is halfway in. The screw has to be taken out, and it can be done either with a quarter or a screw driver. Put the screw driver into the screw, turn it counter-clockwise, and take it out. Most customers like to use an air nozzle to fill their product. When inflating the product, make sure that your air compressor is at 30 pounds of pressure or less. Stick the rubber nozzle into the product. How do we know how much air to put in this? All of our products should have 2 pounds of air pressure. Fill the product until you can push in a quarter of an inch on the side. Well once the product is inflated to two pounds of pressure, we need to put the valve screw back into the product. Make sure that we only go down to the face of the valve and no further in. You will feel resistance. Once you feel that resistance, stop. This is ready to go. All I need is a piece of line, which we call a fender rope, and this is ready to go on a boat.

How to Inflate a Polyform Fender with a Hand Pump - SavvyBoater.com Videos

Using a Polyform Hand Pump to inflate a Polyform fender is very simple. First, using the proper-sized screw driver, remove the plug. Next, insert the pump nozzle and inflate. Do not over-inflate. The wall of the fender should be flexible. Finally, re-insert the plug. When the plug is flush with the surface, tighten until snug. The fender is now ready for use.

    Cons:
i haven't used it yet but not exactly prudent of Ironwood to not send instructions on how to inflate the ball. I unscrewed the screw went to attach my bicycle pump to discover the normal valve doesn't fit. I took it to the west Marine store and they didn't have a valve nor did they know how to fill it. I finally called your customer service and got instructions to watch a video and how to use a compressor air pump, etc. etc. JUST ADD THE INSTRUCTIONS.
Great product but 80lbs or 60lb lift?

    • It works!
    Cons:
    • None
This is was an awesome purchase!

Was a little skeptical about what the lifting power was on this ball.

The description says "pulls up to 80pounds"

When I received it the product says it pulls up to 60pounds!

    I run a 25 foot chain (31 pounds) coupled with a 28 pound anchor.

Only way to try it out was to put it through its paces. Note: I have purchased severs balls in the 14 inch and 18inch size range and only this one has been able to pull my chain and anchor with easy!
