    Q. What about overheating?
    There is a thermal cut-off switch that will allow the unit to cool to a normal operating temperature should it overheat for any reason. Once normal operating temperature has been reached the switch will automatically reset and turn the unit back on.

    Q. Where should I place the DryWave?
    The location for your DryWave should be chosen carefully. Always away from possible fire hazards and there needs to be unrestricted air flow to the unit.

    The DryWave uses about as much power as a household light bulb.

    Q. Is the DryWave Air Dryer safe to touch while plugged in?
    It is not recommended that you touch the DryWave while plugged in. DryWaves are safe to touch but still can cause burns if overheated.

    Q. Why does my DryWave Air Dryer have a strange odor when I first plug it in?
    If it is the first time you are using your DryWave this is normal and will go away after a few hours of operation. If the odor persists then unplug the unit and contact whomever you purchased it from.

    The DryWave is a great unit to have for preventing mold and mildew from forming in your boat, RV, cabin or home by drying the air. When air comes in contact with a surface that is at or below its Dew Point temperature, condensation will form on that surface. The DryWave is a product designed to prevent water condensation from forming by drying the air and warming the temperature to above the dew point within a given space.

    The DryWave is effective in spaces up to 1,000 cubic feet. This means that when you are not using your boat, and have it docked or on a trailer, you can be confident that when you are ready to use your boat again you will not have to worry about cleaning all that pesky mold and mildew. The same ideas apply to a RV, small cabin, or rooms in a home. When you are not using these, they can be subject to moisture accumulation due to lack of ventilation; with that and colder temperatures, condensation is likely to occur.

    People interested in the benefits of the DryWave should recognize that the climate where they live will have an impact on the effectiveness of the DryWave’s ability to prevent mold and mildew formation. Due to the fact that some climates are more humid than others the DryWave may not be as effective when used. On the other hand in places where the humidity is higher for only a portion of the year the DryWave can act as a deterrent for mold formation. The relative humidity plays a crucial role to the formation of mold and mildew in spaces. The relative humidity is the amount of water vapor in the air, which will influence the dew point, or temperature that condensation forms on surfaces. By keeping the temperature above the dew point, and not allowing moisture to build up on surfaces, the chances of mold or mildew forming are reduced.

    In the Pacific Northwest and similar cool, damp climates the DryWave is very useful. During fall, winter and spring when humidity is high and temperatures cool, conditions are perfect for the growth of mold and mildew. The DryWave has been developed to help control moisture issues in places where the dew point temperature can be close to the air temperature. The DryWave works by raising the temperature in an enclosed space, lowering the relative humidity and eliminating condensation. Drywave air dryers work best when the temperature range is above freezing and below 65 degrees. While areas like the Gulf coat and Florida frequently have problems with mold, even in the summer. The combination of high humidity and high temperature reduce the effectiveness of the DryWave, and operation in higher temperatures can lead to overheating of the unit.

    The DryWave is very easy to use and safe. Before using make sure that air flow around the unit is unrestricted and unobstructed. Choose your location carefully, away from possible fire hazards. Simply plug the DryWave into a standard household outlet (110-120 volts AC) to begin using. The DryWave is “on” whenever it is plugged into a power source. The DryWave has been engineered to operate 24 hours a day and to be left for long periods of time. There is a thermal cut-off switch that will allow the unit to cool to a normal operating temperature should it overheat for any reason. Once normal operating temperature has been reached the switch will automatically reset and turn the unit back on.

    • Dry Wave: Do no obstruct the air inflow areas (near the bottom of the case), or the holes on the top of the case. At minimum, 24 inches should be left clear to the sides and above the unit.
    • DryWave 100:The DryWave 100 does not include any airflow holes. Leave a minimum of 18 inches to the sides and above the unit to properly operate.
    • The DryWave™ can become hot to the touch when operating. Do not touch the unit until it has been unplugged and then allowed to fully cool. Always allow the unit to fully cool before touching, moving, or storing.
    • Set the DryWave™ on a flat, level surface during use. Do not use on top of blankets, long carpet, or any other material which may restrict air flow into the case.
    • To protect against the risk of accidental shock, do not use the DryWave™ on wet surfaces or in areas where it may be able to fall into water. Never immerse the DryWave™ or its power cord in water or other liquids.

    • Close adult supervision is necessary when this appliance is used by or near children.
    • This appliance is rated for indoor usage only, and should not be used outdoors. Do not place the DryWave in the direct sunlight.
    • Do not store or use near sources of additional heat, such as heaters or stoves.
    • Do not use the appliance for any use other than those intended by the manufacturer or modify the product in any way.
    • Do not operate the appliance with a damaged power cord or operate it after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner.
    • Airflow around the DryWave™ must be unobstructed for proper operation. Do not place items on or next to the DryWave™.
    • In order for the drying process to work properly, the DryWave™ must be used right side up with no obstructions within 24 inches of the sides and top (for example, don’t use the DryWave™ in the extreme corner of a room). Choose your location carefully, away from possible fire hazards and obstructions. This is particularly important when the DryWave™ will be left on while unattended. Only use on a flat, level surface. Do not use on top of blankets, long carpet, or any other material, which may restrict airflow into or out of the case.
    • After properly located, plug the cord into a standard household outlet (110-120 volts AC). The cord must be arranged so that it cannot be pulled on by children or tripped over accidentally.
    • The DryWave™ is “on” whenever it is plugged into a power source. There is no external power switch and the DryWave™ is silent while operating. The unit will take several minutes to radiate warmth.
    • After properly located, plug the cord into a standard household outlet (110-120 volts AC). The cord must be arranged so that it cannot be pulled on by children or tripped over accidentally.
    • The DryWave™ is engineered to operate in cooler environments. It should not be used in areas where the temperature exceeds 75 degrees Fahrenheit.
    • The DryWave™ operates at 120 watts and will work effectively in enclosed areas of up to 1,000 cubic feet. The DryWave 100 operates at 20 watts and will work in areas up to 100 cubic feet.
    • The DryWave™ is equipped with a thermal cut-off switch (not included on the DryWave 100) which will allow the unit to cool to normal operating temperature should it overheat for any reason. The switch will automatically reset and turn the unit back on when normal operating temperature has been reached. Stop using the DryWave immediately if you suspect that it is overheating.
    • In some cases, you might detect a slight odor the first time you use the Dry Wave™ or The DryWave 100. This is a common occurrence for many small heating appliances. Any odor you detect upon first use is harmless and should dissipate after several hours of use.
    • When you’re finished using the Dry Wave™, simply unplug it from the wall outlet. Allow the unit to fully cool before touching, moving, or storing.

    The DryWave™ requires no maintenance. It should be kept dust free for best operation.

    Ironwood Pacific Outdoors, Inc. (IPO) warrants to the original retail purchaser of this DryWave™ air dryer that it is and shall remain free of defects in materials and workmanship for two years from date of purchase.

    Should the purchaser discover a defect and notify IPO during the warranty period, IPO will, at its option, repair or replace the unit at no additional charge, or refund all or part of the customer’s original purchase price if the unit was purchased directly from IPO. This limited warranty does not cover damage caused by improper use, disaster, abuse, or modification.

    Limited warranty service may be obtained by first calling, writing, or emailing IPO with a description of the problem or perceived defect. IPO may request documentation to understand the nature of the problem or defect. If a defect or problem is confirmed, IPO will, at its sole discretion, replace, repair, and/or authorize the return of the unit to IPO. Returns must be made to the specified address, along with proof of purchase date, and be properly packaged. Unless otherwise authorized, the purchaser must prepay return-shipping charges. IPO does not accept COD shipments.

    All express and implied warranties for this product, including the warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, are limited in duration to a period of two years from the date of purchase and no warranties, whether expressed or implied, will apply after this period.

    If this product is defective, your sole remedy shall be repair, replacement, or refund as provided above.     I purchased two of these to hopefully generate enough heat to keep two small rooms in the 40's this winter. One room is the head. It's probably not 12 sq ft. The other is a center guest berth, appx 36 sq ft. The units are plenty warm to the touch, but I can't tell if they produce enough heat to affect the room temperature.
    Company Comments - The DryWave 100 is designed for up to 100 cubic feet. It is used frequently in safes. A room that is 36' square feet in size is very likely to well exceed 100 cubic feet unless the room height is only 3 feet tall. The DryWave 1000 might have been a better choice for this room.

    <p>I now have 3 of these, and recommend them to friends. They last a long time; are safe; and do a good job. And, are reasonably priced. Only down side is that the legs get dried out with age and fall apart.</p>
