Our Cub Scout Pack is having a “Hooked On Scouting” themed Join Scouting Night. We got this as a game the potential Scouts can play with indoors. We will tape pictures of local fish with facts about them.

Pros:
  • Easy and fun to use
Cons:
  • none from my part

Try the kit at a BSA Powder Horn Training and got hook to it immediately. I am not a fisherman but, the training kit make me feel like one in dry land. Will be using it at family and BSA activities to keep everyone busy with something fun to do.

Have used Backyard Bass in a kids Learn-to-Fish workshop for three years. Bought a third set plus more casting plugs to use this year. This is the most popular activity in our instructional event. We set them out on a blue tarp and practice several casting techniques.

Pros:
Cons:
My two granddaughters ages 8 and 10 did not know how to cast. They are both now doing well, not perfect, but well after an hour or two.

They were both having so much fun playing a game they did not realize I was teaching them the fundamentals of casting. I know they are going to ask to play Backyard Bass again when they come to gramps to visit.

We love this game.

We bought the fishing pole from a store and lost the fish that went with it. After looking all over, I took a chance on this set. It comes with 2 fish for the lures and 3 BIG fish to catch. Yes the lure fishes are heavy enough to go as far as the original fish. We play this game on the lawn and in the swimming pool. The order went well and the shipping was quick.

Kids loved it. We actually had 2 sets to have enough fish to keep them busy. Well worth the price. Local4H was impressed too!
